Demografics
Republic of Chile is located in the Southwest of America. It has an area of 1.250.000 square kilometers. Chile is long and wide, having 4,300 kilometers from north to south and 175 kilometers from east to west. This makes Chile a country with different climate. In the north is located the Desierto de Atacama, the world’s driest desert. In the centre you can find a Mediterranean climate and in the south a snow-prone Alpine climate, with lakes, fjord, glaciers and ice fields.
The capital is Santiago de Chile with proximally the 40% of the total population. Other important cities are Valparaiso and Concepcion.

Mobile and Internet Landscape
With an estimated percentage of 40% of internet users in 2006 at a national level and of 48% in the capital, Santiago, Chile presents the biggest penetration index of this technology in Latinamerica, although the growth rates are not the fastest ones. Something similar happens with the cellular technology, to which 87% of internet users have access and 65% of non internet users.
