Welcome to the Wiki that gives you a peek into the social media scene in Vietnam. We aim to provide you with useful information ranging from background information, the existing traditional and social media landscape, case studies and interviews with the people in the Vietnam Web 2.0 scene.

In a nutshell, Vietnam is still not fully geared up for the social media scene. However, the country illustrates significant growth over the years, specifically with internet penetration marking a promising 22% annual growth. Internet usage exploded by 300% from 2003 to 2007, with much of the growth attributed to the under 25-year-old bracket who accounts for over 70% of Vietnamese cyber inhabitants. With all these positive and promising figures, there is great potential for businesses to start leveraging into this new media.

Companies are therefore welcome to venture into this emerging country but are advised to tread carefully, noting important cultural and other behaviors.

More in-depth discussion is provided in this Wiki and we hope the information will be able to provide you with the head start in understanding more about Vietnam social media scene.
