In the country the phenomenon of blogs has grown enough.Proof of this is that there is already a Chilean Association of Blogs. Dicha entidad esta destinada a coordinar a los bloggeros que estén interesados en acortar la brecha digital en el país. This entity is designed to coordinate the bloggers who are interested in bridging the digital divide in the country. Quisimos conocer quien estaba detrás de esta iniciativa y entrevistamos a Marcel Pommiez , editor general de su web www.achib.cl We wanted to know who was behind this initiative and interviewed Marcel Pommiez, general editor of its web www.achib.cl

1 .- Tell us something about you. What's your blog, you write that?

My name is Marcel Pommiez Aqueveque, owner of Gozador a blog where I write a little bit of everything. It started as a political blog, but as everything was changing, where today there are sections as " Acid Criticism, Comedy, Freak Data, Directory and much more Blogs in Spanish. Actually and as in any personal blog, it shows everything that makes me feel either anger (if critical), or that causes happiness.

2 .- How did you create and organize the Achib? How many members are there?

The Achib is created under the light of a meeting hold in Santiago blogger some time ago. Taking into account the need of an existing and proposed similarity digitalization of Chile. Taking the decisión to work together to combine efforts to do something for Chile. We currently are nearly 200 members from various cities. There are people of different political and religious trends, with respect, we are making efforts to achieve the common goals.

The Association is organized on the basis of an Advisory Council which is composed by 4 people, then comes the editor and his team, with stable columnists. There are also areas of communication, finances and other aspects that are required. The whole team is composed by almost 15 people, and we expect renew next year.

3 .- How did you get to be the editor of the Achib?

In one meeting the team had to choose and designate members in different roles, under the conditions of each, deadlines and ideas for each area. That was how I was leading the editorial team, until another takes over. The idea is to rotate these roles to ensure enrichment of Achib and that we do not worn us excessively.

4 .- The digital gap is gaining importance and unexpected growth in Chile.

Among the aims of Achib is its intention to get closer to the masses who have no access to the network. 4.1.- How do you see the country in the reduction of the gap, "it seems a fight against illiteracy, also is reducing social inequalities. Chile still lacks much in the digital age, to get this tool as state policy. It is true that some progress has been made, but without the support of private individuals like us, is almost impossible. We must raise awareness among authorities of both government and cities about the relationship betweeen literacy and social gaps.

5 .- What are the actions that have been designed to move towards this address?

Within what we can do, because you are actually doing blog free workshops. In November we did the first at Syria Republic of Ñuñoa College, for students. We are already planning workshops for teachers. In addition we are reaching an agreement with several municipalities to perform similar activities.
Next workshop will be held in Gabriela Mistral Cañete College, Province de Arauco .Arauco. Another relevant activity is the first national meeting for bloggers to to be held next year.

6 .- What do you think about citizen journalism, "do you see it as a possible democratization of the media and democratization of the word?

Without any doubt, citizen journalism, and any similar tools help to democratize the media. Since it is done respectfully and within the frameworks established by the editors. We publish all post we receive, we send them to the partners and to the section where fits. We do not censor or edit, except spelling. When someone detects complicated, objectionable epithets or excessive somewhat, we post them back to their own editor. So we make sure about transparency, respect and tolerance .
