The future of blogging looks bright. Though data is hard to find, there are a million Indian bloggers. we're not sure how the local India newspaper arrived at this statistic, but we reckon it roughly translates to about 1 in every 100 people having a blog. Not too bad a statistic, considering that only about 5% of the population in India uses the internet. That means that statistically, there is an average of one blogger out of every five internet users in India. We forsee this number to rise with several companies pumping in time and loads of money. For example, The Internet Bus Project by Goggle is an attempt to educate people about what the Internet is, and how it may be beneficial to their lives, by taking the Internet experience to them through a customised Internet-enabled bus, which has travelled to several towns and cities across India. We forsee the number of Internet Users to grow two to threefold (just our insight). With the several initiatives, Internet usage in rural India will grow and there will be a huge spillover effect in the blogosphere in time to come.
