Social media in Malaysia is a booming, and ever changing platform by which Malaysians are interacting online. Each year, new platforms, such as Twitter, are popping onto the scene, and it is important to know what is the new program to use.

3) Facebook & Friendster

Facebook has become the number one social networking site in Malaysia with over 1.1 million facebook users in Malaysia and over 6.2 million unique visitors per month. While Friendster once dominated the social networking scene in Malaysia, Facebook has overtaken Friendster. Friendster, however, still has a wide following and member base of over 2 million active users and 4.2 million unique visitors per month.
