Internet and Broadband Penetration
There were close to 22 million internet users at the end of 2008, with penetration levels at 13.6%
The high cost of PCs, laptops and bandwidths has resulted in Pakistan being the least mature broadband market in the region.

Social Media and Censorship
The Government of Pakistan established the Pakistan Internet Exchange to monitor all incoming and outgoing Internet traffic from Pakistan, so as to filter content that the government deems unfit.
YouTube was also blocked by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority in 2007 due to supposed non-Islamic objectionable content.
