1. When did you start blogging? What do you usually blog about?

I blog since 2005.Usually, it is about my daily life, my stuff, my idea, my favorites. Anything that I wanna blog, I just do. It is so random. You wouldn’t be able to find anything in particular there.


2. What do you think needs to be done in your country to get more people to start blogging/using social media tools (e.g. Twitter)?

Clogger is doing their job regarding this. They have workshop, exhibition, and more. In addition, I would just suggest, if possible, to have internet be available to all across the country, not just the city.


3. Do you think Cambodian bloggers get most of their information (general news)online? If yes, do you think the newspapers in Cambodia will go extinct in the next 5-10 years?

Most blogger probably get most information from online but not every Cambodian could access to internet. It’s still very slow in speed and the availability is not widely cover across the country. Thus, I don’t think the Newspapers will go extinct. Even in the next 20years, News paper would still exist because, for another reason, some people would prefer to read in paper. It helps their eyes, I guess.


4. To you, what are the advantages of blogging in Cambodia?

Blogging is a way to get friends and family updated with one another without having to be online at the same time. The advantages are to be exposed to the world and to learn from the outside world. I believe that now, many people, including Singaporean, know about Cambodia more than the time blogging hadn’t yet existed. Also, Cambodian blogger have learnt about other countries’ culture, life, ideas, and they do earn more friends from blogging too.


5. Any disadvantages?

Everything has two faces, advantages and disadvantages. Blogging probably is an easy way to express your idea about something. Somehow, it might leads to confusion to the reader. Because the no-limits within ones’ blog, word could be used wrongly and abusively. I remember having an anonymous creating a blog just to express the idea on how stupid that person think my blog is. That blog even posted my picture which I couldn’t get the webmaster to close it down. It is still there and what can I do? Nothing!
